For years Kathy was homeless and living on skid row. A hospital stay that left her broke started her spiral into homelessness. With no money, and nowhere to turn for support, Kathy and her son found themselves living on the streets. Her son went into foster care and Kathy was alone, hungry and hurting –until she found Union Station’s Passageways Intake Center.
“My case managers – They were the most compassionate, patient, calm and wonderful people I had ever met,” she says.
The staff and Passageways Intake Center referred Kathy to our Adult Center, where she worked on finding permanent housing and reconnecting with her son. This holiday season, they will be in their new home, together for the holidays for the first time in years. It’s a dream come true for Kathy.[/ezcol_2third_end]
