Union Station partnered with National CORE, a nonprofit housing developer, and the City of Pasadena to create 20 units of permanent supportive housing for formerly chronically homeless families. This new project, Marv’s Place, began leasing units in August 2016 and became fully occupied shortly thereafter. In the same year, Marv Gross retired as Chief Executive Officer after 21 years of leadership. John Brauer joined USHS as the new CEO to provide leadership as the organization continued to grow and flourish. Howard Kahn, former CEO of LA Care, led the agency as interim CEO after John’s departure, and served on the search committee that identified Anne Miskey as successor.
